A T1 is a high-speed digital connection that can be used for voice, data or both.  Each T1 has 24 channels that are used in a flexible way.  The T1 transmits data at a speed of 1.544Mbps.  This speed is faster than most modems.  The T1 for voice offers a high grade of service. 

A T1 is the standard means of communication for most small and mid-sized businesses.  The voice T1 allows for both incoming and outgoing calls to be made.  Up to 24 simultaneous conversations can occur.  A typical business needs one T1 to support between 50 and 100 phone users.  If your business is phone intensive you may require more.
