“Getting What You Pay For:
Business Long Distance Rates”
Business Long Distance Service - Guaranteed Lowest Rate Program
Sorting through the bill for telecommunications services to identify the truth of your business long distance rates can be a monumental task. There has been, and is often still on-going, many cases of fraud ion the telecommunications industry that go undetected due to the well-constructed confusion of your telecommunications bill.
Your true business long distance rates may be much higher than you think if you are unaware of how the additional fees add themselves to the seemingly-low per minute rate long distance calling plans.
To reduce the amount of fraudulent charges and lessen the confusion to the consumer, the FCC has requested that telecommunications companies “simplify” their billing statements. Even so, this is not a regulation that is always adhered to. This is especially true of business long distance rates. There are a couple of issues that you may want to pay particular attention to:
Is your long distance service provider charging you for the minimum fee that they pay for federal access services, or are they padding that percentage for their own profit?
Are all of the long distance calls listed on your telecommunications bill accurate, or are there calls that you do not recognize?
Are you paying the same prices that you were originally quoted, or is there a discrepancy in the rates displayed on your bill?
Taking an active role in going through your telecommunications service charges can be time-consuming. But it may make a difference in getting what you pay for in regards to your business long distance rates.
