What is a T3?

A T3 connection is a dedicated digital high-speed circuit used for voice, data or both.  The T3 is a large version of the T1, a digital connection with 24 channels.  The T3 is a super-high speed connection, which can transmit at speeds up to 45 million bps.  The T3 is equal to a bandwidth of 672 regular telephone lines.  This large bandwidth is able to be used for any application such as transmission of real-time streaming video and can transmit large data files quickly.
