"The Savvy Shopper:
Long Distance Carriers For Business"
As the number of long distance telephone carriers passes the
1,000-mile marker, finding the right provider to suit the needs
of the business telecommunications customer can be daunting. It
is no longer as simple as connecting to a single service for
all of your business needs. At least, not if you want to
be a savvy shopper.
But so many choices lead to a lot of confusion. It gets
worse, as businesses are inundated with information and
offers from long distance carriers on a regular basis,
each offering better calling plans than the last.
Some businesses become so frustrated at the sheer volume
of options available, that they actually get more irritated
with the number of calls that they receive, and they become
desensitized to the real issue - that they are paying much
higher rates than then have to.
Statistics show that only 36% of telecommunications customers
are availing themselves of the lower rates that many
business long distance carriers offer. People do not
usually think twice about shopping around for the best deal on
household products, furnishing, or even loan rates for their
home.
But up to 60% of AT&T
customers actually accept the basic rate long distance calling
plan without even inquiring within the company if there is a
better rate available. And there usually is. It is the nature
of people to stay with the status quo, just because it is
comfortable and less of a hassle.
Without having to worry about quality, since there really is
little differences of quality between long distance carriers
for business, searching for the best calling plan is simple for
the savvy shopper. It is no different than buying the perfect
car, or even more simple, buying a great pair of shoes. The
savvy shopper knows what they will use the end product for, how
often and when they will use it, and how to shop around for the
perfect fit.
