A full T-1 line offers digital transmission speeds of up to 1.544 megabytes per second (Mbps). A fractional T-1 service has any number of its 24 channels turned off to provide varying amounts of transmission capability, typically, anywhere from 256 to 768 kilobytes per second (kbps).
