More and more companies these days are becoming dedicated to the proposition of a dedicated T-1 line for their business telecommunications services needs. The continued price erosion started by the Telecommunications Act of 1996 has brought the availability of dedicated T-1 access down to the levels that even smaller businesses can afford.

Most T-1 access can be reliably referred to as dedicated access. The term "most" is used in this case because there are, unfortunately, some "less than reputable" telecommunications services companies that will "resell" the same bandwidth of a single T-1 line to other businesses, with the hopes that they will never simultaneously need the expected allotment that they are paying for.
